I've been looking at pricing on a Kubota L3010 4WD for a couple of weeks now. From what I have found, so far, I can buy a new Kubota from North Carolina, and have it shipped to California, cheaper that I can buy a rental return in California. I will not have to pay sales tax so that just about takes care of the shipping costs. California dealer tried to tell me warranty would be no good (bullshit). Why does the same tractor cost $2,000.00 more in California. I don't mind paying a little more but I hate to get ripped off.

I have been shopping for B2150 or a B2710. I live in SO CAL. Best pricing so far has been from NO Cal. I would rather pay the same dollars to a trucker for shipping than to add any more to the tax rip off in CA. Where are you getting prices back east? I have talked to a dealer about having a tractor shiped to Oregon, Nevada or Arizona and I'll take delivery there...without the sales tax. They have done so in the past. The alternative is to have it shipped to Cal from one of these neighboring states. All carriers have to be ICC licensed, no big deal.Perhaps we can mutually benefit from a joint effort...better purchase price...shared shipping costs.thanks...tvw ....

I live here in NC, and there are 3 Kubota dealers within 50 miles of me. I recommend The Tractor Place in Knightdale NC. The extra cost on your tractor may be partly due to the stringant emmisions control there.
BTW, paid 13500 for my 4wd DST L3010 w/ 32 hours. Hope this may have helped. ( Traded my JD 755 ) ....

It sounds like your California dealer is telling you that the warranty won't be any good at his shop. I'd listen to him. ....

I just went shopping for a John Deere and discovered the same thing...you pay a premium in CA for new or used compact tractors. I thought about buying out of state, however I was able do pick up a JD 870 mfwd with a FEL that needed some engine work for a resonable price and only 4 hours away.....so away i went.. Around here the vineyards and the "gentlemen farmers" with 2 acres and a fat retirement check keep the prices high.
Reguarding the warrentee question...call Kubota corperate offices....I bet they will tell you a different story and will want to know the name of the dealership with the BAD attitude.
Bill ....
